Last FULL version is of 5.0 was...
5.0.0.1066 so if you're having problems
that you suspect originates from your current version of Yahoo Messenger (not
you're computer) you might want to give some thought to using this version.

What happened to Deny a Buddy? Yahoo has
removed the page :-( We've written to them asking for permission to host it
but haven't heard back from them yet. We know there is a few ppl out their hosting
a copy of it.. all we have to say is please take care.. ONLY use the page if
it's provided by someone you know and trust.
What happened to using HTML and Sound? alas
it looks like the Dings and sounds are dead.. at least for some/now. The upgrade
with 1065/1066 has done the deed

has released version 5001066
System Requirements are still the same:
1. Microsoft Windows 95/98/98SE/ME/NT/2000/XP
2. Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 and above
3. a Yahoo! Account (don't panic about this because
it's really easy to set up and it's free. The first time you launch Messenger
simply hit Get a Yahoo ID and fill out the required fields)

You can download 5001066 from [http://messenger.yahoo.com]
(Yahoo! site) Yahoo has provided a direct download link for messenger so if
you're one those having trouble downloading via the wee install file or can't
seem to get the lasted version then check out [Yahoo!
Trouble/Downloading Installing].
Note: if you're having trouble getting the
latest version then try the following...
The trick to getting the version you're after is to manually
change the download link...
http://download.yahoo.com/dl/installs/ymsgr/
<- download location
ymsgr_1050.exe <- file name
so if the version our after is say 5001065 then you need to enter..
http://download.yahoo.com/dl/installs/ymsgr/ymsgr_1065.exe
if you're after 5001061 then you'd type in..
http://download.yahoo.com/dl/installs/ymsgr/ymsgr_1061.exe
etc etc :-)

5 has come with a new drop down menu (pic to the left) and if you can't spot
what's new here they are... 
 
to those you of who are observant (or obsessed!) you'll notice the clown which
was "secret" in v4 is now included on the menu.. here's what you were

Ghost] it's WAS the "spare" smiley! I kid you not.. swear
on my coffee pot! It WAS included in 5,0,0,1015 and 5,0,0,1018 with no
keys associated with it. When you download version 5001029 you'll see it is
