The new monkey smiley
:(|)
now this little darling is causing some of you a lot of grief.. the 3rd keystroke
is not a capital i nor is it a lowercase L it's actually one of these | so what
the heck is it? Check your keyboard for this key now it should be shared with
this key | or in some cases a broken line very similar ¦ .. hit shft+
and there you have it! Now keyboards differ from age to age and in some cases
brand for brand so if it's not as we have detailed above then just go a hunting
for it on your particlar keyboard. If you want to let us know where yours is then
we'll post the information for other users :-)
Error Messages...
this one is perhaps the most common one we are hearing about...
YPAGER caused an invalid page fault in module MYYAHOO.DLL
next would be YPAGER caused an error in MYYAHOO.DLL
as soon as you click close in the error window your booted off Yahoo Messenger.
some of the things that generate it...
- when you hit send (on messenger) or enter on your keyboard
- when you or someone uses ctrl+G (Buzz) when using the Snowflake or Hearts IMvironment
- switching to an IMvironment
- you use the animated flag smiley in an active IM window
One person who
suffered the above error message also noticed that our site ID (wackyb_co_nz)
was listed in her friends list twice (see screenshot) bizarre! I can assure you
all that one of me is plently! She's running Windows 98 and had Internet Explorer
5 installed. Everytime she hit enter or send she was booted offline and her IMVironments
were static. If she sent IM's to people who were offline she was fine and when
I switched to "invisible mode" (appearing offline) she was able able
to IM me without being booted offline. She picked up a critical update pack via
[windows update]
and took her browser up to IE 5.5. When I came out of "invisible mode"
she stuck and was able to IM quite nicley. So is this the solution? I wouldn't
put my money on it.. it could just have been a case of "good timing."
System Error...
 |
Script Error...
 |
the cause of these two error messages appear to be quite similar.. that being
the browser and/or Operating system is out of date.. not necessarily the version..
more so the updates. Both these errors were found on IE 5.5, the version which
is pretty much "up to date" considering IE 6 is the latest.. but the
problem with all the computers (we came across) experiencing these errors was
that the browser was not up to date with service packs, critical updates etc
and the Operating Systems we're sadly lacking in the same areas so if your suffering
either, or both of these error messages then get yourself along to [http://catchup.cnet.com]
download the Catchup Software then spend some time bringing your browser and
your computer up to date with [Software
Updates] and while your at it [Security
Updates] too. Follow the instructions carefully.. yes that means READING
all the documentation ;-)
Miscellaneous...
"...No font color control, its blue no matter what I choose, No dings
<waaaaaa:((> love the dings, and I get booted about every 10 mins..."
