ICQ® Status Indicators and Panels
ICQ Panels offer an enormous range of options for ICQ user to add everything from door bells to status indicators to communication centers to their web pages and blogs etc, we're going to look at just two of what's on offer... the ICQ2Go Launcher panel and ICQ Status Indicators
ICQ2Go Launcher
There is a wide range of "panels" available for your website, each offers something a little different, from paging, to email, to IM, to groups, to lists... but for me I just wanted something "basic", as such I opted for the ICQ2Go Launcher which allows visitors to see my current online status, find out a little more about me and provide a couple of contact options for them, and if they don't have ICQ installed or available at the time there is super hand link to ICQ's own web based Instant Messenger "ICQ2Go"
Once you hit http://www.icq.com/panels/icq2go/ all you need to do is enter your ICQ number and your Nickname, hit Preview, then if all looks aok hit Create Panel, then copy and paste all the code provided across to your web page... it really couldn't be much simplier :)
ICQ Status Indicators
ICQ doesn't do things by halves... which is perhaps why some are put off by the ICQ experience.. but that aside, once again, ICQ delivers more than one option when it comes to Online Status Indicators, my own personal favourite is 5. but there are others available. As with the panel creation all you need to do is enter your ICQ number, hit preview and then create, then cut and paste to your web page.
The basic code is the same throughout all the status indicator designs, with img=# dictating the style used, so if you're in a hurry or struggling with the preview popup just take the basic code...
