Problems with Windows Messenger....
If you're struggling with being knocked off MSN
Messenger due to Windows
Messenger kicking in at all the wrong times, then swing by dougknox.com
and grab yourself Disable/Remove
Windows Messenger (© 2002 - Doug Knox), a simply brilliant utility.
and
then there's Shoot
The Messenger from grc.com
"In addition to being a security risk, Windows' Messenger Service is being
used to Spam Windows users across the Internet. This 22 kbyte "Shoot The
Messenger" utility gives users
immediate control over the Windows Messenger service. Shoot The Messenger allows
any Windows NT/2000/XP user to easily stop and disable the unnecessary Messenger
Service running in their machines."
Shoot The
Messenger is well worth swinging by as there is some great, user friendly
information about Windows Messenger, how it differs from MSN Messenger and the
problems you may face with Windows Messenger so it's well worth checking out
even if you don't feel that Windows Mess is causing you grief :)
