Fingers crossed this version it will be something to write home about and hopefully it will be a compromise between the current ICQ 5.1 and the classic ICQ Pro (2203b) the latter of which is basically a dead duck as confirmed by AOL when they issued a statement announcing the "fix" for the the AOL ICQ Pro 2003b heap overflow vulnerability was for ICQ Pro users to "upgrade" to ICQ 5.1 *cough*

Details regarding ICQ 6 features are a little thin on the ground, their ICQ 6 Blog states "...I can say there are elements which are very innovative. For example, a new and friendly way of sending IM to your friends, or the ability to see easily and clearly all the messages received. In general, I like this version for its user friendliness and great colors..." which doesn't really tell us a great deal... but "innovative" give us hope :)

Over at the official ICQ Message boards there is a ICQ 6 Preview forum posting by the ICQ Team which introduces the upcoming version and invites ICQ users to register their interest in testing ICQ 6 so if you're interested in a sneak peek then jump in line for the slow release.
