Trillian
you're in our Trillian archive.. if you want the latest Trillian information check out Trillian v3.1
Version... 0.74H Download Size: 2.47 MB O/S: W95/98/ME/2000/NT/XP
[Trillian] is perhaps the "be all and end all" when it comes to combining your much loved messengers into one easy to use program... as they say "One Messenger. A Trillian Possibilities" so if you're one of the many that juggle a variety of messengers (ICQ, AIM, MSN/Windows, Yahoo, IRC) then I'm sure at some stage you would have checked out Trillian... or in fact already be using it and are one of the many that email us constantly asking why we haven't covered it ;) So if only to free up the inbox a little here it goes...
Trillian provides two versions for users.. [Trillian .74] which is free or [Trillian Pro] which you can get your hands on for US$25, which very reasonably priced considering what you get for your money. As you would expect [Trillian Pro] comes jam packed full with a lot more features than you'll find in .74 (free) for a full listing check out the [Pro Features Tour]. After only a quick peek at it I'd bet my morning coffee that if you're a heavy Trillian user you'd be chomping at the bit to get your hands on it!
At this stage it's not our intent to cover all the in's and out's of Trillian, instead we'll cover the second most asked question we get (after "Why haven't you got it on your site????") and the question is of course "can you help me with the smileys?" or a variation of that ;) So smileys it is....
As you can see by the screenshot to the right (of the drop down menu) Trillian .74 comes a HEAP of smileys, it can be a little overwhelming but if you're a heavy or regular MSN/Windows and Yahoo user you'll quickly be able to pick out their distinctive smileys and figure out which ones work in what messenger program.. or rather which ones should work with each messenger. Speaking of smileys.. they're not really "smileys" as such, Trillian calls them "Emoticons" and the wav's (sound files) are "Emotisounds" both of which are easily changed/edited via "skins". Trillian boasts (and rightly so) the fact that you can have an unlimited amount of Emoticons via skinning.. pretty impressive if you're aiming for smiley overkill and for smiley addicts you'll be in heaven as the number available is limited only by your imagination or the skin you're currently using.
[Trillian Pro] comes with over 200 smileys.. sorry "Emoticons", and offers users animated ones as well (not available in v.74)... I personally don't have Trillian Pro**. I'm not sure if I'll venture down the "pro" path at this stage as I'm like a dog with a bone and much prefer to have my messengers spread all over my screen but I did have a blast plonking with Trillian and may in fact dust it off every and now in the future but for now we're sticking to Trillian .74 and the default emoticons that come with it.
** have since purchased trillian pro... kinda cool :) Smileys etc covered in our Trillain Pro section that being said, on to the [Default Smileys] or for die hard users head to [All keycombos] first
