...I thought I'd take some of the features for a spin and check out what is what and what works.... it was fun and reminded me why I like it... Trillian that is... I like it because it's a challenge ;)
Here's me (using my Yahoo! ID bee_on_trillian) on Trillian Pro version 3.1... talking to myself (yep, I'm odd :p ) on Yahoo! Messenger version 7.5 (in Beta at the time) using our Yahoo! ID stickercam...

The Features....
Yahoo Messenger let me know right at the get go that certain features wouldn't be available during my IM session which was a real time saver. Yes I'm using the beta version of Yahoo Messenger and yes this may change over time.. but for now it is how it is :)
My Yahoo Messenger toolbar indicated that File Transfer (Send File) and Photos were unavailable...

Trillian wasn't so helpful, send file was still and option and nupe, as Yahoo said, it wasn't an available feature.
I leapt across to Yahoo Messenger version 7.0.2.120 and tried file transfer again, alas I still had no joy but thankfully Yahoo Messenger kicked in once again and let me know that it was a problem, Trillian just seemed to stick on "trying to establish file transfer"
Display Pictures do work though...
my Yahoo Messenger ID shows up perfectly on my Trillian buddies list...

and vice versa, my Yahoo ID that I'm accessing via Trillian displays perfectly also...

WebCam works, at least with Yahoo Messenger 7.0.2.120 it does, I didn't have a chance to try it with the beta v7.5.0333
but I'm a little confused, in time I imagine it would be a piece of cake but for now I've just acquired a brain full of fuzz.

I had no problems starting my webcam, one thing I did learn though is that you need to select your webcam (Trillian > Trillian Preferences > Video & Audio) before you opt to broadcast. I have a few to choose from and just my luck, the wrong one was selected as the default, I thought the ability to switch between them might be readily available via my active IM session or the main Trillian window where your cam should also display but it wasn't there... not the option to change cams or view my cam.... all I have available is a black screen. I suffered a brief creepy moment.. and learnt a lesson... just because your cam looks black to you doesn't mean it looks that way for others also.... my webcam was, and still is broadcasting perfectly well... it's just that I can't see it.. others still can. I can still capture my webcam and set it as my avatar.... I just can't see the actual cam myself.. strange but true.
The webcam tools available are kinda cool. The filters you can apply to your webcam work really well, sepia is a nice touch, As mentioned above, despite having a black preview screen, I can still capture and set the image as my avatar.. and it works perfectly well. I didn't have a chance to take the Emotiblips™ for a spin as I don't have any installed.. it's not easier finding where too either.. requires more time and patience than I have at the moment :)
btw... using TrillianPro with Yahoo Messenger for Mac version 2.5.3 is a breeze... webcam is aok going both ways (I still have the same black screen on my Trillian account but it broadcasts perfectly :)
I can transfer files from Trillian Pro to Yahoo Messenger for Mac but not from Yahoo Messenger for Mac to Trillian Pro, I disabled my firewall but to no avail.
Just another note... if you too are a Mac user and have heard that you're iSight won't work with anything but iChat... it's bullocks mine works quite happily with Yahoo Messenger for Mac :)
