Identifying your Windows Live Messenger friends....
From your Yahoo! Messenger friends list it's not that easy to work out which of your friends are using Windows Live Messenger (WLM), there's no blazing icon screaming that they are WLM user, one clue might be that their WLM display picture isn't supported, by default they use the standard Yahoo! Messenger online / offline icon... but then if your Yahoo! Messenger friends don't have a Yahoo! Avatar or display picture they too will have the default Yahoo! icon... you could add a new group to your friends list and dump them all in there.. but that might be a bit of a pain if you sort by relationship group... really the only way to tell if your friend is using WLM is to mouse over their name and check out the menu that appears, then you can instantly see that they are.. well, from the "other" side ;)
a Windows Live Messenger user
has the WLM icon top right of the window

A point to note is that you can add any Windows Live Messenger user to your friends list, it doesn't matter if they have an hotmail.com, msn.com passport, any email address that holds a Passport can be added to your friends list... the one I have added in the example above is my stickercam.com account which has a Microsoft Passport.
