Yahoo Messenger v6 "The All New Yahoo! Messenger" Display Images - Pictures
UPDATE: 24th May 04 Yahoo Messenger releases v6.0 for further information see WackyB.co.nz - Yahoo Messenger v6
Your Display Image Picture is accessible from either Messenger > Change My Display Image (Ctrl+Shft+K) or via your IM window, regardless of how you arrive there your options are the same for "sharing" and selecting an image. Check the radio box beside "Share my picture" then hit select, from there you can choose from any of the currently available Pictures or you can add your own.
If you want to use one of the pictures supplied simply click on the graphic click OK, you're taken to the Default Display Images window click OK and your done... couldn't be easier.
If you'd like to use your own image keep the following in mind... The Pictures shipped with Yahoo Messenger are 96x96 pixels (wide x high) and are .png files but you can also use .bmp, .jpeg or .gif images so the world is your oyster.. or rather picture ;) If your picture is under or outside of 96x96 the display picture will be squished or stretched to fill the space allocated so your image may need some tweaking for it to display as you would like it to, once you have your image all worked out just follow these simple steps...
then follow these few simple steps (from the beginning)....
Messenger > Change My Display Image (Ctrl+Shft+K) Check the radio box beside "Share my picture" then hit select Click on Browse by default you're taken to your My Pictures directory/folder so if you're an organised wee soul this is perhaps a logical place to be taken but if the image you wish to use isn't there then just navigate your way to the correct directory/folder, so long as you can locate your picture it makes no difference where it is stored. Click on the picture you wish to use Click Open Click OK, you're taken to the Default Display Images window and OK again tada! all done :)
