NOTE:
Between v5.0 and 5.5 there is a slight change to how use "dings",
v5.0 supported the following colour tag...
<font color="6600ff">
with v5.5 you can MUST remove the " and " <font color=6600ff>
for the colours to work
thanks heaps to Adam K. Wolff :)
Using Dings in Yahoo Messenger takes a bit of thought and preparation but once
you have the script all set up and ready to run it's simply a matter of copy,
paste and send...simple!
Creating Ding scripts to use in Yahoo Messenger is really no different to [creating
emotes] for Yahoo Chat so if you can do that then then you can do this with
one hand tied behind your back.. but for now lets use both hands ;-)
We have quick reference tables for [Microsoft
Wingdings] and [Microsoft
Webdings] available in our [Keyboard]
section so if you want a quick brush up by all means head over there first but
if you ready to jump into feet first then just click [THIS
LINK] for the reference table on Microsoft Webdings which is the ding we'll
be using in this example. The link will open in a new browser window, have a
quick look over it then minimize it till we need it later.
Have a look at the example below...
it's the end result of pre-made ding script that's showing in an active IM window,
it's a good example of what you can create... it's really only limited to your
own imagination :-)

This is the exact script which was copied then pasted into the message window..
now to those of you that have never been near html code don't be put off, I
know it looks like a jumble of characters, words and numbers but below is the
same script broken down..
Now don't panic we're not going to throw you in the deep end.. for those of
you are familiar with html code then the above is all you're going to need to
get you going, have fun and by all means send in your screenshots with/without
code and we'll post them on a bragboard :-)
For those of you have never heard of html or need a quick refresher then we
have a comprehensive step by step on the following pages....
