Yahoo!® Messenger version 8 Smileys
Our Smileys, or Emoticons if you prefer, are still stored locally at C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Media\Smileys and as at version 8.0.0.508 we still have 88 available... a huge number to remember but take note...
| Andy created a YEmote Plug-in for Yahoo! Messenger version 8 which puts all the smileys (including the hidden / secret ones) in easy reach! You can grab his plug-in at Yahoo! Gallery YEmote or check out our forum thread Yahoo Mess v8 Smiley Plug-in available for more information, or if you're running version 8 while you're reading this, hit this link to install it directly now :) The plug-in is free, dead easy to install and always available, it's really worth considering if you're a hefty smiley user, struggle to remember the key combinations or just want to save yourself some extra clicks by not having to access to smiley drop-down menu every time.... |

If you are into Yahoo's Emoticons (smileys) in a big way (and lets face it who isn't! :) you can now test your skills (or a fun way to improve them) using EmotiBlaster http://www.wackyb.co.nz/EmotiBlaster originally written by Chris Szeto, we've taken his excellent code and with permission updated it to include all the latest smileys and key combinations, a few other tweaks here and there; But most importantly (well at the moment as I'm at the top of the leader board :o) I've added submit your high score. So if you think you're a wizz with the smiley codes without looking them up see if you can get past level 4 (New help box shows the codes required for any missed smileys so you learn as you play for next time).
