I'm the kind of person that collects bits and pieces that you don't often need all the time but are always handy to have around... open the top draw of my desk, pop the lid on the glove box in my car or simply have a converstation with me and you'll know what I mean ;-) This site has been built on exactly that... it's what I call "brain fluff"... so here's the brain fluff I've collected that relates to Yahoo Messenger...

Yahoo Messenger saves the last five custom status messages so if you want to delete the last one on the list you'll have to whip up four new ones to get rid of it... or you could select the message you wish to change so that it's set as your current status message.. then just edit it.. simple ;-)

File Transfer
is way cool but note that the maximum size of the file you can send is 1.5mb

You can never have too many friends... unless they're on your friends list that is, the maximum number messenger will allow you to have is 100, speaking of friends but of a different sort, the maximum number of people you can have on your ignore list is 50.

speaking of.. time to chop that list back? Edit your friends/ignore list straight from the horses mouth.. [Edit your Yahoo Friends List Online] or [Edit your Ignore List Online] now here's a wee treasure.. [Remove your ID from a Friends List!] and it works! and when enough is enough and you dont want a Yahoo account any more complete the [Yahoo Terminate Account Form] this removes your Yahoo ID, Yahoo Mail, your profiles.. the contents of your mail, address book, briefcase, Geocities, My Yahoo etc etc.. in approx 90 days your gone! If you're just looking for a bit of online privacy put a check beside "Hide my online Status from other users" in [My Profiles]

If you've heard the rumour about 4 of the Yahoo Smileys being based on Yahoo Staff members you heard it right ;-) check out this link [HERE]

Where they hide...
when you download Yahoo Messenger and for that matter Yahoo Essentials the install files for Messenger and Essentials are stored on your computer.. as with the main download of Yahoo messenger so if you need to reinstall them again then simply locate the files at their respective paths and doulbe click to install.. saves downloading again :-)

HOAX EMAIL/IM MESSAGE!!!
"Yahoo is planning to take away Yahoo Messenger by August 25th 2001. If you want to keep out Yahoo Messenger free of charge, send this to everyone you know. It will be used as a petition. Each person you this to counts as a "signature" If this petition gets 1000,000 signatures they will keep Yahoo Messener. If they do not receive 1000,000 votes you will have to pay $10.00 to have Messenger (per month). If you don't care about this then please for everyone.... copy and paste this message to everyone! bout this then please for everyone.... copy and paste this message to everyone!"
ok.. trust me on this.. it is NOT TRUE! It's doing it's rounds yet again.. first [AOL], then [MSN] now [Yahoo] ... please do your bit to stop the insanity by not forwarding it :-)
