Remembering all the Yahoo! Messenger Smileys is practically impossible, we can easily access the basics from the drop down menu in YIM and when push comes to shove we can perhaps recall our favourite secret / hidden Smileys but it's a tough call... then along came Andy's YEmotePLUS plugin for Yahoo! Messenger v8 users... but not everyone wants to run version 8 and not everyone finds the plug-ins easy to understand... but there is another option for us all, regardless of Yahoo! Messenger version... DaveC's Yahoo! Messenger Smiley Shortcuts lets use smile names in place of the default key combinations,
e.g if you type !smile it will generate the default key combination for :) and generate
!c will give you ~O) and generate
!idea will give you *-:) and generate

so much easier to remember :)
